Term and condition

Welcome to Hello Serengeti Safaris. By booking a safari with us, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions, which define the responsibilities and obligations between you (the client) and Hello Serengeti Safaris (“we”, “us”). These conditions ensure transparency, trust, and a seamless safari experience.


1. Itinerary and Changes

Each client receives a customized safari itinerary. While we aim to deliver all outlined services, changes may occur due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, road closures, or safety concerns. Any changes will be communicated promptly, and alternative options of similar quality will be provided.

2. Local Conditions and Fees

Traveling in Tanzania and East Africa requires adapting to local conditions. Unexpected changes to government park fees and taxes may occur. Hello Serengeti Safaris reserves the right to adjust final prices accordingly.

3. Payment Terms

  • A 45% deposit confirms your booking.

  • Full payment is required at least 65 days before the safari start date.

  • Airline tickets must be paid 100% upfront.

  • Bookings made within 65 days of departure must be paid in full.

4. Payment Methods

We accept bank wire transfers. All banking charges must be borne by the client.

5. Cancellations

  • 65+ days before departure: Deposit non-refundable

  • 50–65 days before departure: 50% charge

  • 0–50 days before departure: 100% charge

Amendments to the itinerary after confirmation incur a $150 fee.

6. Pricing & Quotations

Prices are quoted in USD per person (based on two travelers). Pricing excludes visas, tips, insurance, personal expenses, and optional excursions. Prices are subject to change due to park fee adjustments or clerical errors. Quotes remain valid for two weeks.

7. Travel Documents

All travel documents (vouchers, e-tickets, etc.) will be sent two weeks prior to departure.

8. Travel Insurance

It is mandatory for clients to hold comprehensive travel and medical insurance covering accidents, evacuation, loss, or damage. Proof of insurance may be requested before travel.

9. Visas & Passports

Guests are responsible for valid travel documents.

  • Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival or in advance.

  • US citizens: $100 visa fee.

  • Other nationalities: $50 visa fee.

  • Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond travel dates.

10. Booking & Confirmation

Bookings are confirmed only after receiving the deposit. Late payments may result in cancellation. The lead traveler is responsible for correspondence and payments on behalf of the group.

11. Amendments by Client

Post-confirmation changes incur a $75 fee per person ($100 for US citizens). Changes requested within 12 weeks of departure are treated as cancellations.

12. Amendments or Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel or amend any safari due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, alternative arrangements or refunds will be offered. Compensation is limited to $75 per person.

13. Force Majeure

We are not liable for disruptions caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, pandemics, war, terrorism, or civil unrest.

14. Our Responsibility

We take responsibility for providing services as per your confirmed itinerary. We are not responsible for additional services provided by third parties or for events beyond our control. Our liability is limited to 200% of the total trip cost, except in cases involving injury or death.

15. Third-Party Excursions

Hello Serengeti Safaris is not responsible for excursions not booked directly through us. Assistance in booking such activities is provided purely as a courtesy.

16. Carrier Responsibility

We are not liable for airline or sea carrier decisions, cancellations, or delays. Responsibility lies with the respective transport provider.

17. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Disputes shall be handled by the courts in Dar es Salaam.

18. Claims & Complaints

If you encounter a problem during your safari, report it immediately to your guide or lodge manager. If unresolved, submit a written complaint within 28 days of returning. Failure to do so may void your claim.

19. Introducer Waiver

If referred by a third party (e.g., travel agent), you agree to hold them harmless and direct any issues to us.
